Let's Get Technical.
Having shot with Blackmagic bodies for the past 5 years, they're my go-to for insanely high image quality paired with rich and accurate colour reproduction. Whilst a lot of the industry remains shooting on Sony or Canon bodies, I believe BM has a foot forward in providing the best picture you can get at this level alongside some of the highest resolutions not even expected at this bracket.
Sure, there's no autofocus or fancy noise reduction in-camera, but that's made up for the fact that I fully edit within the DaVinci Resolve Studio suite. This offers industry-leading colour grading, smooth editing and easy handover to other NLEs. I still have the FX30 and X-T5 which both offer images that pair amazingly with my A-Cams and offer better suitability for other filming situations (ie. gimbal use).
What We're Working With.
And Colour.
It's sorta important to me.
It's subtle yet pops.
I take colour grading very seriously, maybe too seriously. But the reward from that is absolutely stunning final images for your videos. Whilst most stick to slapping luts onto the final video and calling it a day, I meticulously grade each clip on the timeline ensuring both uniformity, a great consistent look and a final picture that oozes professional film. I can always adapt to client preferences, but I tend to mainly emulate film stocks.
The other benefit of this level of grading paired with the 6k resolution cinema cameras I use is that stills from the final project can easily be used as images across your socials, website and more. Stills at this resolution are the same or even larger than most professional photo cameras and as such, are a super easy way to extract still images from moving pictures that look just as great as any setup photo.
